renovation stage shoppingIn between sanding and painting and plastering and scraping, husband and I recently found the time for a trip to French market Les Puces. On the outskirts of Paris, this massive market stretches across seven hectares and has literally thousands of stalls, with goods ranging from fine art to secondhand DVDs.

We were there on a quest for 20th century treasures,
so headed to Marche Paul Bert, which specialises in furniture from the 50s and 60s. When we weren’t indulging in coffee and crepe pitstops, we checked out stall after stall of industrial lighting, Ercol chairs and stags’ heads galore. (Imagine Living Etc come to life.) Sadly budget constraints meant this ended up purely a scouting mission, but we’re already saving so that we can go back for our own version of Le Bargain Hunt.
