I can't believe it's not wood

Everyone I know sneers at vinyl floors. And I used to sneer, too, but these days I’m a changed renovater. When working out how to floor our untility room, we didn’t have many options. The rest of 93 had beautiful floorboards, but as this room was rebuilt in the 1950s, it just had a cold concrete floor. We couldn’t laminate it, because that would make the floor significantly higher than the rest of the downstairs and laying a sheet of  lino was pricier than it needed be, thanks to the odd shape of the room. Luckily, I came across a pile of vinyl planks tucked away in B&Q’s flooring department. With their adhesive backs, you can lay them without underlay, so we were able to minimise the chance of us tripping into our laundry.
